I think a good asking price for this horn would fall between $2500-3200. The main determining factor on these horns is their individual/unique playing characteristics. I have played some examples of these horns that were not so good and some that were incredibly good. The biggest problem right now is a trend toward earth moving equipment currently and for this size their is the very comparable Weril CC tubas. With the cheap price of a Weril and the fact that a lot of guys will put up with a few intonations quirks and a little less playability on a "specialty" horn (especially b/c it is 1800 bucks). I think the Yamaha's are better horns in general, but the allmighty dollar is a mighty force.
