I have a Besson compensating 3 valves lacquered with a case. It's a good sounding horn and plays very well. The valves are tight and the slides are all smooth. If you're looking to spend less than $1000 on a horn, this would be the one.

For anyone else reading: This is a great horn for your average dixie gigs. All the damage done to my Yamaha 381 since I bought it in '86 was basically acquired on that type of gigs where the 4th valve was not getting used much. I wish I had this horn then.
