I visited the Alex factory in 1962. At the time I was using a Conn Geib that my father had obtained for me from Bill Bell. The people in Mainz made a nice copy of it for me and mailed it to me in the US for a total cost of about 5 or 6 bucks. My old man was very upset, fearing that they would steal the design.
