Thanks Chuck. I decided to be a man and attempt the repair myself :) I already tapped out the old rivets, I just need to find two nuts and two bolts of adequate length and minimal width to replace the rivets. The only reason I was skeptical of mom and dad was because I had never heard of a luggage repair shop :) It sounded too convenient. I need to go to my local hardware stor and pickup the nuts and bolts.
