I am in a similar situation, although do not have a brass band at my disposal for accompaniment! I performed a solo (written for e-flat bass) a couple of years ago with my school brass band. It is called "Celestial Morn", and is a nice alternative to the Carnivals and all that. The accompaniment isn't too bad I don't think. It is published by the Salvation Army. If you are interested drop me an email and I could get you a copy to look at.
