We had something similar happen to a big band I play in. The drummer we had was terrible and did not know the charts. So the band leader canned him. It made a lot of people upset because he was a friend of a lot of people in the band. A couple of other people quit as a result. We got a better drummer, picked up a couple of extra players and things are fine again. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Life goes on.
