Last weekend I talked with Harvey Phillips about some recordings. Interestingly enough, this New York Philharmonic Brass Ensemble recording (with Bill Bell on tuba) came up in conversation. Harvey made the comment that the first movement on the recording was played rather slowly-- much slower than his quintet-- the New York Brass Quintet was accustomed to playing it.
