This reminded me of a question I had myself. When choosing a college, does the quality of the tuba instructor have a higher value to a tuba-playing student than the quality of the band program itself? I myself live in the West, and I've heard nothing but good things about UNLV's band program, but nothing about their tuba instructor(if, indeed, they have one). So, should I go for UNLV after high school, or try to get into a college with a renowned tuba professor?
