I've played 2-3 of these tubas. I liked them. They are small, and reather heavy. I personally would not buy one as my only horn. But, if I had the money for a tuba just to be used in quintets, this is the one I would buy. It does have some intonation issues, and no 5th valve. Thats the only thing that turned me off about it. But every tuba has a few problems, so I didn't eliminate it from my "want in the future" list just because of that. I was told that some modifications are being made at this moment, so you may want to hold of on buying one right this minute.
Overall, I liked it. I loved the tight sound it helped me produce. There was a good amount of fundamental to the sound. Hope this helps a little.
