I own one of these tubas. I had the pleasure of playing in the Blue Lake Band when we traveled to Europe year ago. It is a monster to play and haul around two cases but being the only tuba it was the right projectile. We played in every sort of diferent settings, indoors , outdoors. It was good to be able to do some things I didnt know that was posiable till we played in a very live church "echo chamber". Don Fickenger looked at me and said got any ideas how to tame that tuba sound, so I cranked the bell around set the tuba horizonal in my lap with bell straight up and walaha had an upright tuba. Wish I had a bell up for it, and if it had four valves it would be an awesome tuba. Does your Renolds tuba have four valves? deos it have a spring finger hook for the first slide adjustment? The King tuba has optional bell up or front as I remember.
