I know what you mean about the wonders of a bell-front horn. I own two 1934-35 King bell-front Eb horns with front pistons. I wouldn't part with them. One I've done a valve job on and the other is waiting in line behind other projects. On the King horns, the bell is not detachable. It's a fantastic oom-pah horn but very difficult to control for concert stuff. I've got other horns for those times when the tuba must be tamer!!
