I've had my fender bass in an anvil case for 10 years, and had only one problem, which is the only anvil case problem, and that would be on the way out of the luggage bay, the rivets can get caught and pop out. It's sounds worse than it is though, I lost about four rivets, and the airline had my case fixed in an hour, no harm done to the bass. With all of the flight case vs. case vs. gigbag talk, I wonder why you all don't put your instrument in a gig bag and buy a seat. I'm not sure who anybody is traveling for, but it's part of a producer's budget to get your stuff there, and with a seat you know it's there, and you don't run the risk of losing your instrument for an hour, week, month, or forever. And finally, economically, if you pay 100$ as an average for an extra bag, how much more does the seat cost, and, are you a touring musician, or traveling once every 2 years?
