This will be a harder confession for many folks than admitting they are on the take with the local music store, heh, heh.

My teacher is working with my embouchure, and he has me doing some limited exercises with free buzzing. The lowest note I can free buzz (without a mouthpiece) with any quality is about F on the staff. Pretty scary, huh? I could be a good euphonium player if I could play the high notes, heh, heh.

On the mouthpiece, I can buzz about a low F when I'm warmed up. I can play a few notes below that on the tuba.

I have this feeling that when I can free-buzz recognizable pitches down in that range, I'll be able to play them MUCH better on the tuba.
