You must not be able to read, or your comprehension level is off, because he has clearly stated several times that the insurance company is going to pay to repair the horn, or as you put it, putting it in like new condition. This includes the cost of stripping, and relaquering the horn, not the silver plating. Without relaquering the horn, and Dennis paying $300-$400 extra (that means the insurance company isn't paying for the custom work), he can get his horn silver plated. I have a 2 year old tuba, with no dents in it, but if one ever shows up, you can bet that I'll get the insurance company to take care of it.
