Andy Emler's concerto isn't very good overall, but it's pretty innovative, and definitely has some really good "moments" in it. Most notably, it contains the best use of multiphonics I've heard in low brass work (only multiphonics I've heard that sound like more than a tone deaf elephant singing a love duet with a tone deaf hippo).

Francois Thuiller's recorded some good french stuff, I can't recall the pieces or composer's names off hand, though.
