Finale.

It is worth every penny of its inflated price.

However, since you do not sound like you are eager to drop serious coin for this task, I would download the totally FREE (serial number included) Finale NotePad application.

NotePad is a bit limited - okay, it is quite limited. But you will become familiar with the interface and procedures of the full-fledged version of Finale. It is fully functional when you download it (not a crippled Demo). And it is FREE! Later, if you end up getting into arranging or even composition you can get Finale.

Sibelius is not quite as good as Finale, but if you are not going to need publication quality finished products it is quite a bit easier to use and cheaper by a pretty good bit.

I use Finale and have only minor gripes with the product (price being among them... ).

Good luck!

Wade
