I know you're smart enough to realize this, but you should try out all of the horns on your list and see how you feel about them after you play them and how your ears react. I haven't noted any hearing problems with my G-50, but I also haven't been playing tuba as long as you have. The only time I've had noticable hearing issue was when I used to sit in a band section between the bass trombone and another tuba player.
