If you don't have an inner voice telling you that being a professional musician is the only thing that will make you feel fulfilled, then don't do it. Don't worry about what anyone else says you should do. Only you can tell what is right for you. Since it sounds like you're not sure, you probably shouldn't go that route. If you regret not doing it, you can always go back. Either way you should continue to practice and take lessons.

My Brother didn't major in music as an undergraduate because he was told there was no money in it, and he liked biology just as much. After graduating with a degree in marine biology and working at Booth Bay Harbor research lab, he realized that the only thing that would make him happy would be to focus on music. He went back to school and got a DMA in composing and is very happy working as a college professor and writing his music. The point is that you shouldn't view any decision you make now as permanent. You will have many opportunities in your life to try different things. Take them because you want to, not because someone says you should.

If you decide not to make music your profession there are lots of opportunities to play as a hobby. Good luck whatever you decide.
