Mr. Newberger is a world famous pediatrician, author and teacher. Where he finds time to practice, I don't know, but if you think 'amateur' means 'not good' go listen to some New Black Eagle Jazz Band, or Eli and Jimmy Mazzy doing blues. It will change your mind.
If you are good enough and work hard enough you can have all the marbles. If you're not good enough, but willing to work hard any way, you can have a lot of them.
