Jazz is such a broad term that opinions are to be expected. However, Mr. "Thomas" is not disputing these facts. He just wanted to know where he could get some music for tubas to play together that has a jazz feel! Correct, Thomas?
I think that all of these are valid points, however, keep in mind that some of these tubists have never been exposed to playing jazz. The best way to learn both the notes and the playing style is to look at it, written out, in front of you. Once you conquer that, move on.
