I just bought one last summer. The 1st 3 are about .740, the 4th is more than .750. The pistons are very light and fast, and are arranged in a comfortable arc instead of the straight row with offset-fourth that is found on other makes. On previous projects I have used Bohm & Meinl and Walter Nirschl valve sets, but the Mirafone is by far the best. But with all the tubing, including the tuning slide and first bow it was a lot more than a grand. The Nirschls are bigger and much heavier; you would need huge hands to get comfortable with them.
