I am now playing with a DW 2L and a DW 3L on my B&H Eb. I used a DW3 and a DW4 (which is really small) for many years until I had a Besson 981 lead pipe put on it. The 3 is interesting in that it is a fairly small diameter rim but it has a big bowl which, really helps the low register open up. Supposedly Denis Wick designed this mouthpiece for John Fletcher. The story I heard was that Fletch used a Bach 24AW (hard to believe) and Denis Wick patterned the 3 after the Bach 24 for John. Don't know how true that is, just remember reading it somewhere.

I am still not sure if i like the 2L or the 3L better however. I've played the 2 for many years and love it. It is the mouthpiece I use on BBb and sousas. I like the DW mouthpeces too because they are fairly heavy without being full heavyweights. The rim end of the mouthpiece is very heavy. I also like the rim contour on all the DW's I've played.
