I find that a PT 65 responds well with this horn. I personally have no problems playing the low register on f tuba. It must be approached differently than CC tuba. I play a new 45s rotar horn. The 65 gives is a somewhat large f tuba mouthpiece, but give the 45 enough brilliance of sound, that you can easily get away with using it. You might also try a PT 64. Both of these models of mouthpieces are very special. If those are too large (which they might be, because you just started playing again) try the PT 62. This is small, with a thick rim, which might make it easier for you to get a more bright sound in the lower regiister, and certainly help your high register.

Good Luck
