I found that it was a lot easier getting them ingrained if I played music that I didn't already know on BBb fingerings. It took me about a month and a half to get fluid with the new fingerings. My only drawback was playing in marching band on a BBb while trying to learn CC. If you can avoid any contact with BBb for a few weeks, it would probably go a lot better.
