For solo flute, just about anything with Jean-Pierre Rampal or William Bennett.

If your daughter's interested in flute ensemble work, she might like any of the CD's by Flute Force, particularly the "Pastorale" CD with Julius Baker.

For a real kick, try any of the 3 CD's by the "14 Berliner Flötisten". This is a full-scale flute orchestra with contrabass and double-contrabass flutes. The CD's are pretty hard to find in the US, but can be ordered from Muramatsu Flutes , who maintains a huge library of flute recordings for purchase.

Of course, the result might be that your daughter will be bugging you next year for a bass flute, but you've been forewarned...

I hesitate to recommend Galway recordings--the man has amazing dexterity and technique, but some think his tone doesn't represent the ideal.
