I presume that the Government is paying for these so, like Rick, I think that money should be a consideration. I also expect that a National Guard band will most likely be playing music written for a concert band, not orchestral works, and BBbs would work quite nicely for that, and be a little less expensive than CCs. For this kind of group I believe that the new King 2341 would be an ideal horn. It has a great sound, is easy to play, ergonomically comfortable, and is a convenient size. I like the way the Miraphone 1291 plays slightly better than the King, but don't think that it is worth the extra money. You could buy Kings in silver with hard cases for about the same price as Miraphones in lacquer without cases.

I haven't suggested any rotary valve horns because I believe that piston horns would be better for this kind of application. Just one person's opinion FWIW.
