I got a 601 last year, after having it for only a few months, I sent it to the shop for some repairs. Now, after several months, I have it back and I'm experimenting with mouthpieces. I got a PT-88 and just assumed that the intonation and response problems were either my fault or the because of the repairs needed. Now that the horn is fixed and I'm getting to know the instrument again, I have tried some other mouthpieces in my collection and realized that the PT-88 might not be the best choice for me. These are the ones I have tried:

Denis Wick 5L - too small
Denis Wick 3L - felt a little small, but might work.
Denis Wick 3SL - a little better that the 3L
Conn Helleberg - familiar feel but similar response problems to the PT-88
R&S Heavy Helleberg - same as the Conn but with a loss of resonance
Bach 7 - too big
PT-65 - My F mouthpiece. low range suffered
Denis 2L - comfortable rim, nice sound. this is the one I'm going with for now

If I could find something with a comfy rim like the Denis Wick, about the size of of the 2L or the Helleberg, and meybe with a bowl shaped cup, that would be great. I think. Anyway after all of this rambling, the question is this: What kinds of mouthpieces do others who play this particular horn like? Anyone else who plays a large bore rotary (or would like to comment) is welcome to throw in their opinion too.
