The higher the pitch of the tuba the less fundamental is contained in any given note. High pitched tubas approach the sound of the bass trombone which has just about no fundamental at all below the bass clef staff. Listen to Velvet Brown. She does very well except when she plays below the staff double forte. Then she might as well hit a dish pan with a hammer! Blap, Blap, Blap, Blap, Tweet, Blap, etc is stupid music! Composers that write such music are not at all musical and we all shoud refuse to play their music!
