As far as I can tell, we absorbed very little -- probably none -- of the instruments from the other Marine D&B Corps.

Besides, we're using a set of custom-built Kanstuls that was bought in 1995. Still two valves throughout the line, with an additional half-step rotor for the contras (the rotor is, yes, the same Zig Kanstul design as on the Olds piston-rotor contras).

We have two chrome DEG contras left, and they're used for the rooftop fanfare on Friday night parades.

Rumor has it that we'll be getting prototype horns in the next year or so, possibly including larger-size contras and 3 valves (maybe even 4 for the contras). I'll believe it when I see the horns in the rehearsal hall.
