Does anyone know of any schools out there that would offer an assistantship for a repairman seeking a master's degree in either tuba or euphonium performance? I enjoy being a full-time repairman, but I would also like an opportunity to teach tuba and euphonium at the collegiate level and I can't do that with just my BA in music. I'm not sure when I'd be able to start; my wife is in the first year of a five-year doctoral program in music history, but she doesn't like it (too much study of discourse and not enough music study for her taste) so we're not sure how much longer we're going to stay here. I'm not interested in applying now (obviously), but I would like to get a feel for what might be out there.
