Breathe wherever you want. But the idea is to keep a steady crecendo/decrecendo, steady pitch, and steady timbre/tone. When you breathe, you must resume in time wherever you left off and continue. It is not all that easy to play ppp-fff-ppp over 16 beats in one breathe. I suppose it is possible to fo ppp-f-ppp in one breathe, but a true fff takes some air.
