Some find that it's actually easier to learn triple-tonguing before double-tonguing and that the sequence of consonants used matters a lot. All very strange, but I find that I can triple-tongue faster using TTK rather than TKT, even though on a string of triple-tongued notes, the two are basically the same; i.e., TTKTTKTTKTTKTTK and TKTTKTTKTTKTTKT differ only by the single initial consonant.
