Incidentally; I did all that delaquering prior to de-denting, de-dinging, readjusting, polishing, and then relacquering. Bare brass "patina" looks distinctive, and hides a multitude of small scratches, dings, and dimples but- well, umm, err; if God had intended for tubas to go naked he wouldn't have furnished us with plating and lacquer.....
