I just recieved a King 2341 with hard case from Brasswinds, via FedEx. When I opened it up, I found the first valve sprung. I got on the horn to Brasswinds and they told me to take it to my repairman to get it fixed (for up to $100). Needless to say, it would be much more than $100 to fix. Now I've been waiting for a week for FedEx to check out the tuba, and pick it up to ship to Brasswinds. I've got 45 days to get it back.

Brasswinds has been very nice about the whole thing. But, here I am right before the Christmas season, sans tuba. Brasswinds has my money until they get the tuba back. I can't afford to shell out a few more grand for another horn.

And what really gets me was the poor packaging by Brasswinds. No packing material at all inside the hard case. And the box was just filled up with styrofoam corn, so the tuba just sank to the bottom of the box. Nice.
