Some spambots are smart enough to figure out the space and "at" tricks. Although the address they assemble may not be correct. For example, if your adress were JohnDoe(AT)somewhere.com and you entered it as "John Doe at somewhere dot com", the robot would probably reassemble it as "Doe(AT)somewhere.com".
Even Microsoft has suggested that users of their newsgroups stop using their real e-mail addresses in postings. Bummer.
For now, the best thing to do is to get a freemail account and trash it when the spam gets too bad.
