Agreed. You don't want to be getting used to a new horn right before an audition, no matter how much better it's supposed to be than your old horn.
Besides, if you're good enough, it won't really matter a whole lot whether your euph has a compensating system or not. Just play well, kick some butt, and be happy when you do well despite your "inferior old horn".
