Bruce Broughton Tuba Concerto:

Bruce asked me to announce that his very popular Concerto (Sonata) for Tuba is now available with orchestra accompaniment. The composer made the orchestration himself. The first performance of the new version was played in August by Carol Janitsch with the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra.

Bruce is an award winning film composer and his scoring is light and very a effective accompaniment for the tuba solo. The original version written for Tommy Johnson and 24 orchestral winds was later released with piano accompaniment. That version has become one of the most played and best loved tuba recital piece. This new orchestration will give tubists a great "new" concerto to play.

It is available from Kalmus.

Thanks,

Jim Self
