I'm glad to see someone play the Kalinnikov.

A fine piece well suited to a young orchestra. I'm glad they had the chance to give that a blow.

From my own recollection in Florida (don't live there anymore), the youth symphonies in the Tampa Area and Orlando Area were continuing to improve. Mainly due to the size of the overall community and improving string programs. While in Olrando, is was arguable for awhile to say that your best chance of hearing quality local orchestral music without a premium price was to check out the FSYO. Their programs usually had some good blows for the brass sections.

My question is why this support for local groups doesn't seem to translate all that well into support for the professioanl groups.
