I have shipped several tubas UPS with good luck. I have a friend that works at a UPS hub and he said that insured packages get special treatment. I believe I remember him lelling me that they also put it in a white bag so everyone knows it is valuable. I would say that only highly insured packages get this treatment. Anyway I shiped a 3000.00 tuba with ups and insured it for 10,000.00 and hoped they would lose it. The insurance was only around 20.00 extra.
