Bought my Boosey & Hawkes Eb in 1985 to replace a 3 year old Conn 5J Still have it and love it. I seriously considered getting a new horn in 2001 (or 2002?) but just went with fixing up my old horn with some new features that were on the new Bessons (plastic valve guides, 981 leadpipe mounted off the bell, Dillon AGR, mounted the stewart stand permanently on the horn and just had it cleaned up and refurbished and I am now very happy with it.

I bought a Benge 190C tenor bone in 1985 also. Still have it.

Replaced my college bass bone (Holton 181 purcahsed in 1977) with an Edwards in 1998 after selling off a stock of old trombones and sousaphones which I picked up here and there for little or no money. So I really only paid about $600 bucks out of pocket.

Just bought a King Silver Sonic 3B (for my son, yeah right, that's what I told my wife anyway) and I sold off more sousaphones and helicons to buy my new old King Helicon.
