I just got another one of these in and when I play tested it I was glad to see that it plays quite well in tune. You still need to have the first valve slide out about halfway, but I was able to play it with a PT88 without any problems. (Usually they would only respond well to a funnel shaped mouthpiece). This would lead me to believe that the mouthpiece sensitivity has evaporated a bit. This is an excellent 4/4 horn an very free blowing throughout the range. The low register is very comfortable and the horn has a very nice sound to it.
