I owned a VMI 3302, 5 valve BBb. I found that I never used the 5th valve and the horn seemed not as open blowing as the 3301's that I had tried. I now play a (4 valve) King 2341 and find it much more responsive. I have never missed the 5th valve. Maybe if I played in different groups I might want it, but for the community bands and quintet that I play in it would just be extra weight and resistance.
