I have a Besson Sovereign euphonium that I bought in high school.
It was originally laquered brass, and I had it silver plated.
Frankly, I couldn't tell that it made much (if any) difference
in the way the horn sounded or played. If going from laquer to
silver doesn't change things, then I seriously doubt re-plating
would make any difference at all.
