I'm fairly certain you are thinking of Sanders tubas, which were Amati with a Sander name plate glued over the Amati engraving. You could be right about Kroner as well, but the Kroner I looked at recently was definitely not an Amati built horn--totally differenly weight, different metal and finish, beyond late 60's Iron Curtain quality.
