I'd love to have a bass trombone like that for my instrument collection. Some of the old G bass trombones are still around, but I haven't run across one with that particular wrap. ORSI, the Italian manufacturer, still makes a G bass trombone so there still must be some demand for them.
Looking at those old fellas in the photo was very interesting. I wondered what their background was, who they studied with, what the audition standards were in those days, how much were they paid by the LSO, etc.
