I also have several of their arrangements, but none of the hand-written ones, and what you write is interesting. One thing that really interests me is that Mr. D had to write down how he would handle that low F on the Tuba Tiger Rag. If 1-2-4 was his standard fingering for that note, he wouldn't have written anything down. Obviously, he either 1.) doesn't see that note often, or 2.) has a different fingering that he uses as the default. My suspicion is the first possibility cannot be discounted.
