Generally, a 6/4 is larger than a 5/4 which is larger than a 4/4. Unfortunately, there is no set standard, so one manufacturer's 5/4 is another's 4/4. Often, the larger the instrument is, the richer and fuller the sound, but harder to play. This is a broad generalization, since the manufacturer and key the tuba is in also plays a role. Am I missing anything?
