The following is my not so humble opinion.

1. No gig bag offers protection that is worth a hoot. I used one for awhile, and like how handy it was, but then dings and dents begain to show up. When I took it to a shop to be straightened, the repairman just laughed and said, "Gig bags are the repairman's best friend. As long as people use them, we'll have work."

2. Probably the best case is Walt Johnson because, as I understand it, if your instrument is damaged while in their case, the repair is on them. Whether the Johnson is actually better than UniTec, I don't really know.
