I am a band director in Houston, Tx. My Mother's friend has a tuba that her Dad used in the 1920's in some kind of dance band. She says that it has the word OHIO on it and the word STERLING on it (she spent a week polishing it.) It also has three valves. She is very frail from the final stages of cancer and cannot pick it up to get it out of the closet, so I need to go over and get more particulars about it. She says that she wants to sell it to someone who will cherish it (that leaves my middle school band out -- plus, it's not in my budget!)
Do you know what an old tuba like this would be worth, or if there is a collecter of old tubas and such who might be interested in it?
