How much value you lost depends on (a) the market value of the dent-free euphonium originally (You said you paid too much) and (b) how well the repair can be made. Check with your local shop to see what the prognosis is--if the repair is done well, you may not loose much at all.
But you DID buy the horn to PLAY, not as an investment, right?
